The ships of the Yugoslav Navy (JRM) from the period between 1945 and 1991 were relatively unknown, in spite of being often present in the Yugoslav media. They were not systematically described, belonging – from subjective and objective reasons – to the “secret” or “confidential” category. Unlike the ships of the Former Royal Yugoslav Navy, there was a score of exact data on the JRM Warships, published in intern manuals, but available mostly to the military personnel. Only after Yugoslavia fell apart, it became possible to unveil these data, and to write about the fighting ships, boats, and auxiliaries of the Former JRM, and to present their story to an interested reader, in the first book of this kind, full of data and rich on photographs.
