The Latécoère 298 is certainly one of the best-known aircraft among those used by our sailor aviators, but paradoxically, it is also one of those whose history has never really been told in detail. If in the past the emphasis has often been placed, quite rightly, on the last-chance actions carried out by the crews of the torpedo squadrons in the north of France in May and June 1940, little has been written on the ten years that followed these dramatic events. Ten years during which the Laté continued to serve faithfully, often in obscure roles, before disappearing definitively from the workforce of the Naval Aviation.
