Editorial.
Dear readers.
Once again on board.
The sea is calm, more so than in previous months, at least in appearance. It is clear that everyone is modernizing, rearming, in anticipation of a possible confrontation. A priori, no one wants it, but it seems inevitable. Current events may soon take precedence over History, alas!
Let's stay in our niche! We thought of a new column, which will be episodic. Ships have their illustrators, more or less well-known, but the paintings are often appreciated by enthusiasts. So, here is the first one!
Everyone knows the Bounty! Three major films have been dedicated to it. We present them with, in parallel, the true story, alas less romantic, of this tragic voyage.
As the season requires, let's talk about the landing. In Normandy, veteran ships were present! As for Provence, here is the first serious study of the attitude of the Germans towards the "invasion".
Other skies, the end of our series on Pearl Harbor, the original vision.
A little lighter, the story of the superb Grasse 2 liner, in the 1970s. And, even lighter, smiling, a little tribute to the mascots embarked on warships, unknown but very useful crew members.
There you have it, everything is there, everyone will find what they are looking for, peaceful or adventurous voyages!
