Marius Berliet, the most illustrious of the French pioneers of the industrial vehicle, set out in 1906 on the then stammering path of the military truck. From success to success, repeatedly winner of endurance events, he developed on the eve of the Great War the immortal CBA which would be one of the symbols of the Sacred Way in Verdun and of the victory of 1918, "the road French having overcome the German rail ".
After the Great War, the great Lyon builder remained one of the most important suppliers to the French army. The very hard service in Morocco during the war of the Rif (1925-1926) completes to popularize the military Berliet and, at the time of the rearmament vis-a-vis the new German threat, the factory of Vénissieux will leave by the thousands of trucks of 3, 5 tons and 5 tons, tarpaulins or tanks, as well as special heavy carriers of 7.5 tons and tank carriers of 15 tons. All of these models, and many others, are reviewed in this volume.

This work dedicated to the Berliet is the third in a rich collection intended to cover all the vehicles used by the French army, all manufacturers combined.
Each work, very visual, reviews the models systematically, following a chronological classification, with for each the most beautiful photographs, the detailed technical sheets and, as far as it was possible to find them, the original registrations .
In addition, the main models are presented in color, allowing collectors and model builders to discover their vintage liveries.
