Volume 1 of the series "Famous Vehicles". This is a brief treatise on the legendary Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 tank families, with some of the most prominent being described here. Both German main battle tanks are, of course, completely different vehicles in conception, as they emerge from different stages of the Bundeswehr's Cold War-era armaments program. However, they share a number of similarities and together they are the most commercially successful and best-selling European tank designs from the 1960s to the present day.
On the first 39 pages, the reader will find an overview of the development history of the "Leopard 1" and "Leopard 2" vehicle families, including photos and explanations of the different variants. Pages 40-111 are devoted to modeling the "Leopard" 2A6 main battle tank, with a Polish and a Dutch variant being shown. A kit from Tamiya in 1:35 serves as the basis for the models upgraded with additional parts.
