The third part of the monograph on the Messerschmitt Bf 110 constitutes a thorough insight into the combat use of Luftwaffe units equipped with Bf 110s on the Eastern Front, where these heavily armed planes served as ground-attack aircraft and night fighters. The operations beyond the Polar Circle are also covered. Another long chapter is devoted to day and night battles in defence of the Reich. The author uncoveres the fates of particular fighter units as well as individual pilots who fought in them.
