The Japanese Navy strove to expand seaplanes as artillery reconnaissance and spotter equipment in the decisive fleet battle.
Of the many surface reconnaissance aircraft that were developed to carry out these tasks, the Type Zero surface reconnaissance aircraft was officially adopted in 1945 and then operated throughout the Pacific War.
This machine was sent for enemy reconnaissance from two heavy cruisers before the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 8, 1945, and during the battle of Midway, the report of the aircraft equipped with the heavy cruiser [Tone] was the fate of the Japanese Navy MTF. It was a big deciding factor.
After that, this machine will continue to carry out difficult missions in all theaters where the Japanese Navy has acted.
At one point I challenged the enemy aircraft with a swivel machine gun as well as reconnaissance, and tried to attack the ship with a bomb.
In this issue, we will explain in detail the development, production and renovation of this machine, battlefield activities, etc. with many photographs and illustrations, including detailed articles and early published photographs.
