Editorial:
Judging by my mailbox and the state of my overheated phone, it seems that number 1 of your Les Ailes magazine has generated in you a certain enthusiasm and a lot of envy! Our goal is simple: to stay the course and continue to offer you something new in each issue. This implies choices that are not always obvious (if the days were 72 hours and if we had 160 pages it would be easier!). We are overflowing with ideas and projects on all eras and on all subjects ... Everything comes at the right time to who knows how to wait! Thank you all for your encouragement, your comments, your proposals. It’s a daily motivation.
Fall will be marked for the aviation community by the entry into the Pantheon of an Air Force officer, and not the least: Josephine Baker. We devote two (too) small pages to him in this issue, but we promise to come back in much more detail to his truly exceptional and exemplary military career. More surprises await you in our next issues and until then keep writing to us and most importantly, subscribe!

Sumary of this number 2:
- Tribute to Joséphine Baker
- P40 here we are - P40 on Tunisia
- Heritage: Dewoitine D.520
- Collection: Collimator G.H.38
- Investigation: The Zebra of Meknes
- History: Henri Castel
We talk about it in the press and on the Internet:
As we can see, number 2 continues the momentum of the first number with big subjects (this is a change from all those magazines which crumble their articles over months, see years) which also keep a unit of time (42 -50) and places (North Africa for the D520 and Lafayette) ... As long as it lasts! Note the continuation of articles on collimators and on camouflages and brands very useful for model makers © Modelstories 2021
