France in the drone war
Ukraine, Gaza Strip, Red Sea, Syria… For three years, armed conflicts and terrorist attacks have been marked by an increasingly massive use of drones. How is France preparing to fight this new threat? Exclusively for AVIONS, Claude Archambault was able to visit one of the two units of the Air and Space Army assigned to the fight against drones, the EH 03.067 “Parisis” helicopter squadron stationed at the Villacoublay base. What could be better than a helicopter to intercept a light aircraft or a suicide drone? In this very full issue, you will be able to discover several other unpublished articles on the aces of the KG 40 (the "Atlantic Wolves"), the gliders during the invasion of Crete, the creation of the famous Nieuport 17 fighter, the career of its test pilots but also the beginnings of air transport in France, just a few months after the armistice of November 1918...
A few words to finish on our latest publications. The new edition, enriched and expanded, of the best-seller on the Latécoère 298 is now available. In March, three books will be published simultaneously: volume 2 of the history of the KG 54 "Totenkopf", volume 2 of the Marcel Bloch aircraft (devoted to the entry into the war) and the new edition, entirely revised, of the SO.4050 Vautour. Hours of reading in perspective! LELA Presse is also launching a digital edition of all its magazines, in addition to the paper editions. For a long time, we were the only ones to offer you free shipping when you placed your order. Unfortunately, La Poste has just removed one of its economical shipping methods without notice while increasing its prices once again. We are therefore forced to review our free shipping policy for France and the rest of the world.
