Of all the French car manufacturers, the company founded in 1898 by the Renault brothers is the one that has supplied the largest number of vehicles intended for national defense. From 1911, the Billancourt company engaged its trucks in the "endurance tests" organized annually by the French army. This will be the start of a very large production of trucks.
The boom in the sector, linked to the Great War, will not stop and, from one conflict to another, tens of thousands of Renault industrial vehicles will leave the factories of Billancourt to perform eminent services under the flags. All these models until June 1940, from 2 tonnes payload, are reviewed in this volume.
Historical documentation paying tribute to all the engineers and workers who worked in the French automobile industry, serving the Nation.
This work dedicated to Renault trucks is the first of a rich collection intended to cover all the vehicles used by the French army, all manufacturers combined.
Each work, very visual, reviews the models and types in a systematic way, following a chronological classification, with for each the most beautiful photographs, the detailed technical sheets and, as far as it was possible to find them, the registrations original.
In addition, the main models are presented in color, allowing collectors and model builders to discover their vintage liveries.
