A brand new work by a leading Luftwaffe author devoted to this extraordinary aircraft conceived to land troops in Britain during the invasion that never happened and which served as a transport aircraft in all the Luftwaffe's hot-spots from Africa to Stalingrad. This 168-page hardback features over 340 photos - some previously unpublished and in colour - artwork profiles by Thierry Dekker and technical and aircraft handbook drawings. The text is largely based around the unpublished memoirs of KGzbV 323/TG 5 Me 323 pilot Walter Honig. Annexes cover all-known Me 323 by Werknummer with a revised listing of losses and aircraft on strength compiled from documentary sources. Also of considerable interest is a 10-page listing of KGzbV 323/TG 5 personnel complete with brief biographical details.
